So, practically, in spirit, being a something is really simply a provisional experience, a passing matter in the body-mind bound within the relativity of time and space. When the, say democrat dies, his or her death is not the death of a democrat, anymore than a republican or independent, an American or Asian. Yet, we live as if these provisional identities ultimately matter, and they set us in opposition to communion with others.
As the young man can enjoy wearing his clothes, we can enjoy a provisional belonging, such as the Buddhist walking the path of Buddhist wisdom. Yet, the more he or she is Buddhist, the more he or she will realize that being a Buddhist, as being an anything, is impossible, and one will, once ceasing the resisting of this nakedness, relax into the joy of the freedom of being no one and no thing. To one identified to 'clothing,' this appears threatening, to the spirit in Spirit, this is joyful. Above all, this liberates the whole being, body-mind-soul, to love in a way before not possible. And is this not what is important, anyway ~ Love loving?
